Why not join a faith sharing group this Advent to read the Scripture of the Advent season, pray together and share faith?
A Faith Sharing Group is a group of 4 or more people that get together to share faith, read and reflect on scripture of the day or the approaching Sunday. In Advent, groups will read and reflect on the readings and Gospel of the approaching Sunday so to experience the Advent season and the coming of our Savior in a deeper and more meaningful way.
Advent Faith Sharing Groups are forming now and will meet once a week prior to and during the weeks of Advent:
Weeks of November 27th, December 4th, 11th, Dec. 18th
- The first session will meet prior to the first Sunday of Advent.
- Meetings are held at the parish or in homes depending on individual facilitator's schedule.
- Day and evening faith sharing groups are available.

During the Lenten and Advent seasons, there are Faith Sharing Groups that meet weekly, to discuss Scripture readings and their impact on our lives. Facilitator training and guidelines are provided for these programs.
Typical tasks and responsibilities: The leader must be present each time the group meets or arrange for someone else to lead the group. Also, he or she must keep the group focused on the topic and be sure materials are provided for the group members. Group members need to read the selection each week and participate in the discussion.
Required training or skills: Group leaders must take a one hour facilitator training session.
Approximate time commitment: Usually 60-90 minutes whenever the group meets. Some meet weekly, others monthly.
Location: At the Parish of Saint Mary or in homes of participants.
